Blue kyanite is a silicate mineral and is one of several colors of kyanite. It ranges in hue from a soft gray blue to a deeper blue with bands of white or gray running through it. In its rough form, kyanite looks like a long slab with blades. When polished, it is smooth with a soft luster. The stone may be transparent or it may be opaque. You may also find blades of kyanite embedded in larger pieces of stone. Don’t use water or salt to cleanse this crystal.
